The Sunningdale Foursomes
CONGRATUALTIONS TO AVA BATES AND REGGIE FEAR
After an incredibly successful 2023, our Malcolm Walker award-winning Scholars teamed up to take on their first challenge of the year, The Sunningdale Foursomes.
A unique tournament that was first played in 1934. Often once seen as the curtain raiser of the golfing season in Europe, the Sunningdale Foursomes is played over both the Old & New Courses in early March. Entries are limited to 128 pairs with entrants required to support a list of recent golfing achievements in order to support their entry. This tournament is one of few in golf that supports the competition between professional and amateur golfers, which is what makes it so popular and niche.
On March 5th, the pair teed it up on the Old Course for 18 holes of competitive match play. The pair played some great golf but just came up short losing their match 3&2. Nevertheless, they enjoyed their time competing and are looking forward to the season ahead.
