The Critchley Salver
On the 30th May one of our Scholars, Ava Bates, took to Sunningdale’s Old and New Courses to compete in The Critchley Salver.
After a long day with brutal conditions, Ava pulled through to shoot a 78,73 (+2 total) which left her tied 3rd overall. A massive congratulations Ava, and we wish her the best of luck with her next event!
The Critchley Salver is a one day 36 hole scratch Woman’s Open. It was inaugurated in 1982 to recognise the legacy of Diana Critchley at Sunningdale Golf Club. Diana won the British Ladies Amateur Championship in 1930, beating Glenna Collet the best US lady player of her day. She also played in the Curtis Cup, in 1932 here, at Wentworth Club.
