The Malcom Walker Award – 2021
We are thrilled to congratulate Rocky Chapman for winning the inaugural Malcolm Walker Award in recognition of his dedication and energy and in celebration of his achievements throughout last year.
Rocky has been a golf scholar with Wentworth for 5 years. During that time his work ethic and determination is reflected in his handicap now being plus two. Although his focus for spring 2022 has been to achieve predicted three A* in Maths, Physics and Economics, Rocky was still able to achieve a second place in the Club Championship in June.
This August, he will take up his place at the University of Southern California on the men’s golf team, a NCAA division 1 university, where he hopes to compete regularly for the team. This will be after he has competed in the Tillman Trophy, Carris Trophy, English Am & Boys Am this summer. All aimed at competing amongst the best and looking to reach the top of amateur golf.
The Malcolm Walker award recognises Rocky’s commitment, high level of improvement, excellent results and representation of the Club at high level. The Award is named in honour of the Foundations previous Chair, Malcolm Walker who stepped down from his position in 2019 following almost 3 decades of service.
