We are delighted to share some wonderful news from a former Wentworth Foundation Golf Scholar; Millie Cottrell has won the 2026 Astor Salver at The Berkshire Golf Club. Played over 36 holes on the Blue and the Red courses, Millie shot an impressive 68 in both rounds to finish on 9 under par, to win by two shots.
First played in 1951, the Astor Salver is one of the most prestigious women’s amateur golf tournaments in the country, held annually at The Berkshire Golf Club. To win it is a significant achievement in the amateur game, and a result that speaks volumes about Millie’s continued development as a player.
Millie’s journey began at Wentworth Club, where she was supported through the Foundation’s Golf Scholar Programme. She is currently on a golf scholarship at the University of Louisville in the United States, one of the country’s leading collegiate golf programmes, combining her academic studies with competing at the highest level of university golf.
Her victory at The Berkshire is a proud moment for everyone connected to the Foundation. It is exactly the kind of outcome our programme exists to create, talented young people from our local community going on to compete and succeed on the national and international stage.
